The Austin Police Department arrested a man on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, after he allegedly stabbed his wife to death in an apartment complex on Metric Boulevard.
According to the Austin Police Department, officers responded to the Barstow Lincoln Apartments shortly before 3:15 p.m. and found Minerva Jimenez with stab wounds. She died minutes after officers arrived.
Roughly ten minutes later, officers responded to a separate emergency call where they found her husband, Jorge Luis Alvarado Blanco, threatening to jump off of the bridge at Parmer Lane and I-35. Witnesses reported Blanco had claimed he’d just killed his wife.
Blanco was later arrested without incident. He is now charged with murder.
