Maple Leafs avoid sweep by Panthers, Oilers even series against Golden Knights

* The Toronto Maple Leafs avoided elimination in Game 4 of their second-round series against the Florida Panthers, winning 2-1 to bring the series to 3-1. The game was scoreless through the first period until the Leafs struck with a power-play goal from William Nylander at 3:28 in the second period. Mitch Marner scored the eventual game winner at 10:03 in the third period. Toronto rookie goalie Joseph Woll recorded 24 saves in his first postseason start.

Game 5 between the Panthers and Maple Leafs will take place Friday, May 12th at 7:00 pm.

* The Edmonton Oilers dominated the Vegas Golden Knights in a 4-1 win in Game 4 of the Western Conference Second Round at Rogers Place on Wednesday, tying the best-of-7 series 2-2. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored his first goal of the playoffs and also had an assist, with Nick Bjugstad, Evan Bouchard and Mattias Ekholm also scoring for Edmonton, and goalie Stuart Skinner making 25 saves for the win.

The Golden Knights and Oilers will face-off in Game 5 in Las Vegas on Friday, May 12 at 10:00 pm.
